WORK EXPERIENCE
Douglas C. Perkins, a member of Hartig Rhodes LLC, has an active family law practice, including adoptions, and cases involving divorce, child custody and support, and domestic violence.
Prior to affiliating himself with Hartig Rhodes in 1989, Mr. Perkins was associated with the firm of Lane, Powell & Barker. While there, he handled defense litigation provided by insurance companies. He served as a law clerk from 1986 to 1987 with Judge Karen Hunt of the Alaska Superior Court, where he was assigned to complex litigation. Mr. Perkins also worked as a legal intern in the Tacoma, Washington, law offices of David B. Vail from 1984 to 1986, where he conducted research on issues arising in the context of general liability litigation.
Mr. Perkins is a member of the American Bar Association sections on litigation, family law, tort and insurance law; the Alaska Bar Association sections on litigation and family law; and is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Alaska Academy of Trial Attorneys.
