Commercial Law
The bulk of the Firm's clients are large and small businesses. The Firm assists in forming companies, mergers and acquisitions, dissolutions, and a wide variety of contract work. Business organizations include: LLC's, closely held corporations, partnerships and joint venture's. We have experience in representing both buyers and sellers of businesses.
Employment Law
The Firm provides employment advice, primarily for discipline, discharge, and drafting or reviewing employment policies; drafting employment agreements; and litigation for a number of Alaska businesses. The litigation is primarily defense of employers and includes breach of contract, wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, and torts.
Native Law
The Firm has Native Regional and Village corporations for about thirty years which range in size from 150 shareholders to over 3,000 shareholders. The Firm serves in a role similar to that of corporate counsel and works in public and ANCSA land issues. In addition, the firm represents other ANCSA regional and village corporations on specialized issues including land exchanges, ANCSA settlement trusts, and investments.
Banking Practice
The Firm has worked with area banks and other clients on complex financing transactions and as local counsel on complex out-of-state financing transactions. In past years members of the Firm also served as bond counsel on a number of municipal bond transactions.
